December Food Drive at Monty Hall

Remember your neighbors who might be less fortunate this holiday season by contributing something to our annual Food Drive. For the month of December, WFMU will be accepting donations of food and other essentials at all of our Monty Hall events. We will accept all unexpired and unopened foods including soup (no dairy or pork), small containers of fruit, microwaveable meals, cans or packets of fish, creamy peanut butter and jelly, ramen packets, beans, granola bars, individual cereal and baby food packets, men’s and women’s underwear and socks, feminine products, and diapers. Please no glass containers. Thanks to everyone who brings along something to help!

“Dory Previn: On My Way to Where” Documentary Screening on Sunday, December 1st in WFMU’S Monty Hall.

“If you’ve never heard of Dory Previn, prepare to be ashamed of yourself.” -Rex Reed, 1970. Writing and singing the unvarnished truth about one’s buried secret life experiences is more common today than when Dory Previn wrote brilliant, disturbing, and darkly funny songs in the1970s. Previn began as an Academy Award nominated lyricist for Hollywood musicals with songs for Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland & Dionne Warwick before a tabloid scandal and public breakdown led to her re-emergence as a cult artist in the Laurel Canyon scene. The film taps archives for a story in Previn’s voice. J. Smith-Cameron (SUCCESSION) reads the voices in Dory’s head. Dory’s eloquent articulation of her relationship with her voices anticipates the burgeoning Hearing Voices and Mad Pride movements that are revolutionizing how we understand mental health.

Julia Greenberg (the film’s Co-Director), Joe Mcginty and Jeremy Chatzky will perform a set of Dory Previn songs before the film. The screening will follow a Q&A with the film’s Co-Director, Julia Greenberg, Producer, Amy Hobby, and Animator Emily Hubley, moderated by Scott Williams.

The Return of LCD – Attention Artists, Writers, Illustrators, and Assorted Weirdos!

WFMU is bringing back the print edition of our Program Guide-slash-Zine, “Lowest Common Denominator,” also known as LCD! If you have art, comics, essays or anything else you would like to submit for our next issue, please send them our way. We are accepting both physical and digital submissions. The theme of the issue is “forgotten and re-emerging media formats,” but we’re seeking material on that, or any other culturally relevant or irrelevant topics. A Radio Broadcast That Will Live in Infamy

Join Todd-O-Phonic Todd and Clay Pigeon as they broadcast live from The Great Notch Inn (400 US-46 in Woodland Park, NJ) on Saturday, December 7th from 3–6 p.m. In addition to witty banter, Todd and Clay will feature torrid performances from Sweet Pete and Old Lady. This date will now live in even more infamy! Doors will open at 2 p.m. Please note that Great Notch Inn is cash only. Come out in person, but if you can’t, be sure to tune in on the radio!

B-I-N-G-O! Seven Second Delay Bingo Night.

Join Station Manager Ken and Andy Breckman for the first ever Seven Second Delay Bingo night, Friday December 13th at 8pm. Ken and Andy will be calling the number for multiple bingo games, with WFMU swag and rare Breckman memorabilia as the prizes for each game. No previous bingo experience is required! That last sentence was for Andy, but it also pertains to anybody attending this magic evening of mirth and mayhem. Come one, come all! You’ll regret it, but you won’t regret it very much.

Save the Date: 2025 WFMU Record Fair November 8–9th!

We’ll be returning to the Metropolitan Pavilion for a two-day fair, on Saturday November 8th and Sunday November 9th, 2025. The Pavilion is located in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, at 125 West 18th Street, between 6th and 7th Avenues.
